FishFriendly FloodGates

Our Fish Friendly Floodgates are designed to retrofit or replace traditional tide and flood gates, enhancing fish passage while maintaining flood protection. By delaying flap closure during incoming tides, these gates provide multiple environmental benefits.

Cantilever Style

The cantilever style has a fine degree of adjustment and they can be temporarily locked open for maximum effect or disabled for the flap to function as normal. They are great when there is a high flow current to help open the flap to a wider angle.

Off-Set Style

The off-set style does have a degree of adjustment by selecting which set of holes to use for the top hinge. They are particularly useful where there are low-flow rates.

Both styles delay flap closure on the incoming tide, aiding fish passage, improving water quality and culvert capacity, and helping manage groundwater and aquatic weeds.
